Digital PCM signal input is processed at 32-bit and converted to analog by the DAC, while DSD signal input during direct mode is natively input to the DAC and converted to an analog signal.

Fantastic with Bravia TV

Mark227, Pinehurst NC: Have owned numerous AV receivers over the years. The str-an1000 may not be the best one, but if you have a recent Sony Bravia OLED TV with center channel capability, it's great. The combination gives you a great surround sound setup without a bulky center speaker that can be difficult to place.
