One aspherical element and three ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements in a precision optical design suppress aberration throughout the lens's zoom range, including chromatic aberration that can be an issue at super-telephoto focal lengths. Excellent sharpness and rendering are achieved at all focal lengths, throughout the image area.
