Three aspherical elements, including one precision Sony AA (advanced aspherical) element, combine in a state-of-the-art optical path to effectively compensate for aberration and achieve outstanding corner-to-corner sharpness. For low-light shooting and smooth bokeh
The F1.4 maximum aperture of this lens makes it easier to capture clear images in low light, even when shooting handheld. A 9-blade circular aperture design enhances its capability for stunningly beautiful background bokeh when desired. Smooth bokeh can make subjects stand out in images with deep dimensional impact.

If you are shooting photos with the A7 platform, this lens is a must have for your kit. Yes it's pricy, and yes it is a bit large and heavy, and yes it looks so cool, but it's performance as a prime lens is remarkable. Colors just pop, corners are as clear as the center even at f1.4, and that's why you buy a fast piece of glass like this.
