What does Ray-Ban Meta glasses do?

With iconic style and the latest in wearable tech, you can capture and share your world with photos, a video call or a livestream, listen to your favorite playlist and make a call or text using voice commands—all from your Ray-Ban Meta glasses. 

The Meta AI app (formerly known as the Meta View app) allows you to view, share, and save the photos and videos you capture from your glasses and manage your settings. With Meta AI* built directly into the app, you can now interact with the Meta AI assistant both on the glasses and in the app, and learn how others are getting the most out of Meta AI through the feed. 

*Certain Meta AI features only available in select countries and languages.

What do I need to use my Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

To operate Ray-Ban Meta glasses, you need to connect your AI glasses with a smart phone and the Meta AI app (formerly known as the Meta View app). Here’s the complete checklist:
  • Smart phone with a recently released operating system: Android 10 and above (with location services enabled) or iPhone 10 or above (running iOS 14.4 and above) review the complete list of compatible devices here 
  • Wireless internet access
  • USB-C charging cable and a plug (if charging from a power outlet and not directly from a USB port) 
  • A valid Meta account
  • The Meta AI app (downloadable from your Apple and Google Play app store).

Do I need to be connected to the internet to use my Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

You can use many of the features of your AI glasses whether they're connected to the internet or not. You do, however, need internet connectivity to use Meta AI.

Is the Meta AI app required to use Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

Yes. You need to download the Meta AI app (formerly known as the Meta View app) to begin using the features on your glasses, like taking and sharing photos. You can download the The Meta AI app either from the Apple App Store or Google Play app store.

What questions can you ask Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

Powered by Meta AI, you can use ""Hey Meta"" with your AI glasses to answer questions in-the-moment, get information, spark creativity and express yourself hands-free, as well as take photos and videos, call, message and control media and volume.

Are Ray-Ban Meta glasses waterproof?

Ray-Ban Meta glasses are water resistant with an IPX4 rating. They are not designed to resist submersion or extended exposure to water or other liquids. In case of water exposure, dry the product thoroughly and clear the charging areas of residue or other debris. 

Keep the charging case away from liquids as it is not water-resistant and exposure to liquids could damage it or other property and lead to injury.

What is the battery life for Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

Your Ray-Ban Meta glasses and charging case have different charge lifecycles. 

Glasses
  • Fully charged AI glasses last up to 4 hours for moderate usage (capturing and syncing up to 100 videos or up to 500 photos per full charge). This may vary with use and other factors.
  • You can fully charge AI glasses in about 75 minutes in the charging case.
  • You can quickly charge the AI glasses to 50% in 22 minutes in the charging case.
Charging case
  • A fully charged case provides up to 32 hours of charging for your AI glasses. The number of hours varies according to how you’re using the features.
  • You can fully charge the case in 3.5 hours using a USB-C cable

Can I get a prescription for my Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

Yes, Ray-Ban Meta glasses are prescription lens compatible. The eligible Rx range for Ray-Ban Meta glasses is -6.00 to +4.00 total power.

Are Ray-Ban Meta glasses compatible with iPhone or Android?

Yes, Ray-Ban Meta glasses are compatible with both the iPhone (iOS 14.2 and above) and Android devices (Android 10 and above).

Is Ray-Ban owned by Meta?

No, Ray-Ban is not owned by Meta. They are two separate and independent companies who collaborated together to create the Ray-Ban Meta glasses collection.
