Great, needs to work better with Canon lenses
June 29, 2015
I am a professional cameraman and use the A7ii exclusively for video. I just got back from Africa where I used it for the first time. I had no problems with overheating and the ambiant temperature was 43 degres Celcius.
The camera didn't turn on a couple of times, with only a partial screen appearing. I had to turn it off and on twice to get the camera to work again.
I use Canon lenses with the Metabones adapter. The autofocus is very slow, unusable in video. Peaking does not work, nor does focus magnify.
I am very happy with the image quality and colors. I wish all the features worked with Canon lenses as they are better quality than the ones available from Sony. Plus, I would hate to have to change them all!
Stabilisation works well for hand-held shots, but it doesn't replace a steadycam device because although you can hold it static and have a reasonably stable image, you can't walk with it.
Overall, a great camera and looking forward to any improvements!... Read More
