Not As Expected

My headphones have minimal noise cancellation once it is turned on. I thought this was sufficient until I encountered other similar quality noise cancellation headphones. I think that I may have a defective product.

WH-1000XM4 The Good, The Bad and Ugly.

Good: Headphones are great with great sound compared to all headphones in the same category. Noise cancelling is one of the greatest. I have tested the noise cancelling in most crowded areas and it is one of the best. Battery life is one of the greatest I have seen so far. It is also very light weight so that you can wear it for a long time without any issues. Setting this is very easy with the sony app. The sony support is very attentive and very supportive. The Bad: If you are setting this up with multiple devices for example phone and laptop so that it can connect as soon as you switch the device it is very easy to do that but all the issues started happening after that. While connecting to the single device lets say phone if you start your laptop you will hear the message that "Second device connected" but after every 10-15 second it play the same message while you are listening the music on first device. It is so irritating and I found no solution, how to fix that. The Ugly: These headphones are not meant to be for Zoom conferencing, I had to exchange my first pair of headphones as I people were not able to hear me on the zoom calls. Also there was issues while calling to people over phone, Whenever I use to call people over phone the other party tells me that I am sounding like I am sitting very far from my phone.... Obvious wear on inner headphone padding upon openi

Purchased the wh-1000xm4 and let them set until today. Upon opening, there is a white powdery film on the inner fabric and a tear. Same with the right pad except no tear. With my thumb, I am able to feel what.might be the connection to the overheard plastic apparatus but uncertain. The product has never been worn so don't understand how this could occur and if it will be a continuous issue and if.it.needs to be replaced annually. When I contacted support was told the pads were available for purchase and they would not recommend of discourage the purchase of the sponge under the fabric of the earpad. The fact I have to purchase replacement, install and likely replace over and over the pads for a $300 set of headphones is ludicrous. I was told by tech that if the event show up consistently that Sony will address the issue. Please notify Sony if this has happened to you as well.... Read More  Hide
